Judge Dr. Rana Akoum

Judge Dr. Rana Akoum holds a PhD in Law from the Lebanese University and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the American University of Beirut. She is currently a Prosecutor in North Lebanon and has extensive experience in private law, anti-corruption, and international cooperation. She serves as the Anti-Corruption focal point at the Ministry of Justice in collaboration with UNODC and has represented the Ministry at Parliament in drafting anti-corruption legislation. Judge Akoum also leads the Task Team on the Compliance of Anti-Corruption Legislation with International Standards (UNCAC) and heads the International Cooperation Office at the Ministry. She is the author of several legal publications covering banking laws, business law, civil status law, and human rights, with a focus on making complex legal topics more accessible and practical for both professionals and the public.
