Founded in 1953, Amir began as one of only two shops on a quiet Hamra Street and has grown into a timeless destination for oriental treasures. L'Emir Souheil Chehab

L’Emir Souheil Chehab (1920-1996), former Member of Parliament for Hasbaya and son of three-time Prime Minister L’Emir Khaled Chehab, founded Amir in 1953. Known for his modesty and nobility, he established the shop as one of the earliest landmarks on Hamra Street.
