Founded in 1953, Amir began as one of only two shops on a quiet Hamra Street and has grown into a timeless destination for oriental treasures. Continuously reinventing itself, the store offers a carefully curated selection of handcrafted artisan pieces and souvenirs, oriental clothing such as abayas, shawls, table linens, and unique gifts for local and international visitors. L'Emir Souheil Chehab

L’Emir Souheil Chehab (1920-1996), former Member of Parliament for Hasbaya and son of three-time Prime Minister L’Emir Khaled Chehab, founded Amir in 1953. Known for his modesty and nobility, he established the shop as one of the earliest landmarks on Hamra Street.
